Beinn Bhrotain, Monadh Mor & Mullach Clach a' Bhlair. Climbed with Ali on yet another day where the rain that was forecast didn't really appear- fantastic. After the long walk yesterday, this proved difficult to motivate ourselves for in the morning but once we were on our way things improved for a bit. I seems that my left knee is the sore one this weekend and it looks like Ali hurt her ankle (achilles?) so we'll have to be careful in future. Again, a long day but I'm glad it's done. e even got some views of the rest of the cairngorms which was nice.

Ben Avon, Beinn a' Bhuird, Beinn a' Chaorainn [Glen Derry] & Beinn Bhreac [Glen Derry]. Climbed with Ali on a day where we expected the worst and actually the weather was kind to us- even if the wind and terrain wasn't so generous at times! A big old walk of nearly 40 km put quite a lot of strain on our pace and our legs. Good paths to the first two hills were followed by fairly tiring yomps over the last two before an excellent track took us the last 8 km home. Sore but thanks to beautiful parents, our beloved van was waiting for us at our finishing point. Van-tastic! (sorry)

Beinn a' Chochuill & Beinn Eunaich. Climbed with Ali on yet another rainy day in cloud for a lot of the walk but not as consistently bad as yesterday. A good yomp in up a steep track followed by a very steep and unrelenting but not too long slog up to gain a ridge and follow to the summit. Knees finding it difficult, but they seem to be easing. Headed back to second hill and the descent from here was a bugger! I've never had such tired and sore knees. Ever! Still, 2 more off the list so that's good. Hope the knee swelling goes down before the weekend.

Sgurr Eilde Mor, Binnein Beag, Binnein Mor, Na Gruagaichean, Stob Coire a' Chairn, An Gearanach, Am Bodach, Stob Ban [Mamores], Mullach nan Coirean! 9 YA BEAUTY!!!!!! Climbed on my own in horrible conditions- went for the full 10 but was blown over just before attempting the knife edge ridge en route to Sgurr a'Mhaim so decided to retreat in the face of death!?! My skin is now sandblasted clean thanks to the minute and horizontal rain/ hail/ sleat that whipped across or directy into my bonce all day long! My knees are dead and I even managed to get lost for a short while. "Oh a fair weather walker I shall be, I shall be, a fair weather walker I shall be"! Still that's a monster day done and 9 ticked off the list in one day. Yippee!

Climbed with Ali on a miserable day where we were but a lovely day elsewhere in Scotland. Typical! A nice though quite long walk in by the river to the base of Slioch before a fairly steady climb up into the corrie and then out on top. Felt like a good one to get done considering the previous days disappointment.

Time: 10.5 hrs |

Climbed with Ali and 'Rammer' on another grotty day in cloud- 21 degrees C in the Borders they tell me! Hoped to complete a full traverse of the Fisherfield 6 and started at daybreak, but it soon became clear that our group was moving too slowly- the terrain proving harder to make progress on than expected. So after a cursory glance at the map we decided to cut the day short (though it still took 10.5 hrs!) and head back after 1. This leaves another almighty 5 munro route to do and cost a day of walking. Bugger!
