  Beinn Mhanach
    Beinn Mhanach

Date: 26th May

Buddies: Ali

Meaning: Monk's hill

Height: 953 metres

Time: 11 hrs

Beinn Dorain, Beinn an Dothaidh, Beinn Achaladair, Beinn a' Chreachain & Beinn Mhanach. Walked with Ali on this '4 seasons in one day' kind of day. Big ole walk but felt very satisfied to have completed all the Bridge of Orchy hills in a one-er. Slightly swollen right knee the following day but hopefully nothing serious. Bring on the big days!

    Carn Ghluasaid

Date: 20th May

Buddies: Ali

Meaning: Cairn like hill of movement

Height: 957 metres

Time: 5.0 hrs

Carn Ghluasaid, Sgurr nan Conbhairean and Sail Chaorainn. Climbed with the beautiful Alison on a much drier, sunnier, calmer Sunday than the previous day at Loch Quoich. Yomped up the first hill, though the second was still depressingly high compared to the first. Number 3 went easily followed by an interesting (I don't think Ali agreed) traverse of the Sgurr nan Conbhairean W face followed by a boggy/slippy yomp down off the hill where I proceeded to break my walking pole while still maintaining my dignity- see photos when they get put on!

    Gleouraich

Date: 19th May

Buddies: Ali

Meaning: Noisy hill

Height: 1035 metres

Time: 5.5 hrs

Gleouraich & Spidean Miallach. Climbed these two on a filthy day in May- it did get brighter- or should that be drier- as the day went on. Climbed with Ali and felt that my role as an anchor may prove useful should she be blown away. Thankfully that didn't happen and we both survived! I'm sure the views over to Knoydart would have been lovely as well as those towards Glen Shiel. I'm sure there'll be more of these days to come. Woohoo!

Date: 12th May

Buddies: Ali, Ann & Andy

Meaning: Hill of rustling

Height: 1078 metres

Time: 7.5 hrs

Ben Starav & Glas Bheinn Mhor. Climbed with Ali, Anne and Andrew. Attempted this 'brutal ascent' with trepidation, but it turned out to be groovy, forming a really quite haunting ridge (appearing in and out of cloud) Got more sleaty snow on top and yomped back to go to the party in Aberfeldy. I've left out Beinn nan Aighenan which could prove costly in the future, but Sazza's more important eh!

Meaning: Meaning unclear

Height: 1100 metres

Time: 4 hrs

Meall a' Bhuiridh and Creise. Climbed up these two with Ali on the easier route. Looks like a fantastic scramble up Creise going the 'usual' way- I can't wait to have a go next year!

Buddies: Gazza & Ali

Meaning: Peak of the corrie of the little waterfall

Height: 1115 metres

Time: 7 hrs

Stob a' Choire Mheadhion & Stob Coire Easain. Climbed these with Gazza and Ali on a slightly drizzly day. We were snowed on on the summits! Gaz pointed out some fascinating upland ecology- though we've since been told this is his way of taking breaks without losing face! s.
