  Creag Leacach
    Creag Leacach

Date: 24th February

Buddies: Jerry

Meaning: Slabby crag

Height: 987 metres

Time: 9 hrs

Carn an Tuirc, Cairn of Claise, Tolmount, Tom Buidhe, Glas Maol & Creag Leacach. Big day today- about 30km round trip taking in 6 Munros. Navigation very tricky at times as it was totally clagged out- especially the legs to/from the main ridge and the two mountains of Tolmount and Tom Buidhe. Had to change our descent route due to avalanche prone slope on NW site of Glas Maol- that was exciting! Still a fantastic day spent with my brother (who now knows how to use an Ice axe!)

Buddies:

Meaning: Peak of the little loch

Height: 960 metres

Time: 3.5 hrs

Did this on my own- probably the best weather I've had so far (sorry Ali!). After deciding to take my time, the day turned out to be fantastic. The new crampons worked really well, and I practiced ice axe arrests and glissading- fabby. Not a soul in sight though there was one other car in the car park. Here's to my first solo munro.

Meall na Teanga and Sron a' Choire Ghairbh Stayed at Base Camp Loz and Goz. Yomped vertically (almost anyway!) straight from the house, up ridge to lower summit. Had A great (but short) ridge walk to Meall na Teanga with terrific views. Went down to bealach (across ice field!) and straight up to Sron a' Choire Ghairbh with great views again. Came back down the witch's valley (apparently) and home to clunes for dinner. Fantastic!

Date: 4th February

Buddies: Ali

Meaning: Peak of Bags

Height: 933 metres

Time: 4 hrs

Carn Aosda, Carn a' Gheoidh & The Cairnwell (Glenshee ski hills) Climbed in my Scarpas which once again ripped up my heels (will I ever learn?) Took Ali and me 25 mins to climb the first and we'd reached the second in pretty good time as well, munro number 13! Well it was only after we were almost up the final hill that Ali realised we'd left the camera on the top of Carn a' Gheoidh. After much swearing (not really Mum) we humped back to find our little camera burried in the cairns rocks. Safe at last we ended with a yomp straight off The Cairnwell- a very strange summit, see pics.
