So we’re almost there, 247 munros down with only 37 to go [as at 30th May 2008]. We’re beginning to look towards the final walk - Ben Lomond on July 12th ’08. I’d really like as many of you to join me on this momentous occasion (this is an open invite - anyone can come, yes anyone!) and in order that we do this thing right and raise as much dosh as possible for Maggies, I’m asking that you each get yourselves sponsored to climb Ben Lomond. This way if 10 people each raise £20, then that’s another 200 smackers for Maggies. Brilliant eh!
To get a sponsor form and free promotional T-shirt, just email Marion.Taylor@maggiescentres.org with your address details and she’ll send it all out to you. Stick ‘Ben Lomond sponsor form request’ in the subject box and Marion will do the rest (well, you’ll have to get the sponsors I suppose).
Marion has also arranged a Gazebo to be put up at the bottom of the hill with sandwiches and water for hungry walkers on our challenge, so let her know you’re coming - I believe she’s making the grub herself!
There’ll be some kind of celebration after the walk. So far the venue is uncertain, the entertainment unknown and the nibbles uncooked! But when I get details of it, I’ll let those willing participants know asap.
Thanks so much for all your support over the past year and a half - it’s been incredibly challenging - not just for me, but for those around me and I really couldn’t have done it without all your encouragement and comments like “Oh, why aren’t you walking this weekend?”!!!
Now I’m keen we end on a high and with a final boost to the coffers we can all make a significant difference to supporting people who face the challenge of living with cancer.
